DESCRIPTION:Curious and bursting with creativity\, multi-instrumentalist Dominique Poirier grew up in Oka\, where he began playing the piano at the age of six\, before turning to guitar lessons. As a teenager\, his passion for blues and jazz led him to pursue guitar studies at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent. He perfected his mastery of the instrument and developed a love of composition. \nHis musical explorations fortify his penchant for live performance. As a composer and performer\, he tours with a variety of jazz and popular music projects. \nHaving always had an affinity with the accordion\, it was in 2018 that he embraced the instrument more seriously. It was love at first sight. The accordion enables him to play melodies\, improvise and accompany simultaneously. He was fascinated by the instrument’s versatility and its presence in so many styles of music. Jazz\, classical\, folklore. He is currently studying jazz accordion at Concordia University.

Here’s the follow-up\, just as original and surprising. \n“UNICUM!” cried the Hungarian Emperor Joseph II in 1790\, when his physician Dr. Zwack gave him a taste of his bitter herbal liqueur as a remedy for imperial intestinal cramps. The album’s title track was composed in 2019 at the Budapest Music Center during a tour with the Jazzlab Orchestra. Félix Stüssi was surprised to discover a grand piano in his bedroom. The piece is also a tribute to the late Hungarian-born Montreal musician\, composer and big band leader Vic Vogel. \nFélix Stüssi dedicates Blues turquoises to the memory of his friend and radio host Colette Coco Schryburt\, who passed away in June 2023. \nDear listeners\, be warned: UNICUM was recorded live without a safety net. DESCRIPTION:“Estuaire” is an intimate musical exchange between the voice of Judette Elliston (NYC) and the piano of PJ Fossum (Copenhagen). The result of their collaboration is a spellbinding music that envelops the listener in rich harmonies and floating melodies. After meeting as music students in New York City\, Elliston and Fossum created “Estuaire” to explore the symbiosis and reciprocity inherent in the piano-voice relationship. Drawing inspiration from Joni Mitchell\, Paul Simon and Billy Strayhorn\, they exchange heartfelt melodies and improvisation in a unified whole. \nJoining “Estuaire” on their Quebec tour\, Sébastien Bachand met the duo in New York City. SUMMARY:SUTTON LEGION PARKAlex LeBlanc and his Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Alex LeBlanc et son Orchestre was formed in 2017 in Montreal and brings together six musicians from diverse backgrounds who all share a passion for creative music and improvisation. The compositions and arrangements are for the most part inspired by the ”Cool Jazz” movement while adopting a more modern and somewhat casual touch not to say ”Punk”\, resulting in a very personal sound. In autumn 2018\, the band released a debut album entitled ”Live au Bar Ste-Angèle”\, which was recorded during a concert at Quebec City’s legendary little jazz club. Since then\, Alex LeBlanc and his Orchestra have received rave reviews from ”Radio-Canada” and ”ICI Musique”\, and were shortlisted for the Grand Prix Jazz TD at the 2019 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. In 2022\, they launch a brand new opus entitled ”Musique pour jeunes fous”.
