DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Centre de Musique Victor\, Sutton Jazz is organizing for the first time this year an emerging talent competition for young jazz musicians at CEGEP and university level. The purpose of the competition is to present talented young musicians thus offering them visibility in our region. The ensembles will be judged during a performance taking place on September 3\, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Salle Alec et Gérard Pelletier.  \nAt the end of the concert\, a jury will select the winning ensemble. As a partner\, the Centre de Musique Victor will be awarding the participants prizes worth $1000. The winning ensemble will also have the opportunity to perform and be paid at the next edition of Sutton Jazz in the summer of 2023. \nAdmission to this concert is free\, so come and support the new generation!

He has performed around the world and appeared on over 40 recordings with bands featuring national and international artists such as Jeff Johnston\, Christine Jensen\, Rémi Bolduc\, Jan Jarczyk\, Don Thompson\, Ingrid Jensen\, Brad Turner\, Geoffrey Keezer\, Kurt Rosenwinkel\, Ben Monder\, Dave Liebman\, Donny McCaslin\, Jon Cowherd\, Brian Blade\, Danilo Perez\, Jerry Bergonzi\, and Seamus Blake. With the release of “Aerial” in 2010\, his first recording as a leader featuring longtime musical cohorts Joel Miller\, Steve Amirault\, and Karl Jannuska\, Fraser presented his most personal vision of jazz. The 11 evocative compositions on the album offer a compelling journey through a diverse landscape of colourful musical vistas that is “continually captivating” (Peter Hum-Ottawa Citizen).
