Jean Vanasse, vibraphone - Sylvain Provost, guitar

Both considered as pioneers of jazz in Quebec, Jean Vanasse and Sylvain Provost have been on the scene for at least forty years and have over the years collaborated on several projects and groups.

Sylvain Provost played with Karen Young, Yannick Rieu, Normand Guilbeault, to name but a few, as well as forming a Duo with French guitar virtuoso Sylvain Luc. He also leads his own trio and occasionally collaborates with the Orchestre national de Jazz de Montréal.

Jean Vanasse, founding member of the legendary Orchestre Sympathique, has toured throughout Europe, Asia and Canada. Besides performing with his own Vanassextet, Jean Vanasse Quartet, and other groups, he played several times as a Duo with the Czech double bassist Miroslav Vitous, a founding member of the legendary Weather Report.
