SuperNova 4 – the eponymous first opus from this quartet of Quebec jazz stars was acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic. Here’s the follow-up, just as original and surprising.<\/p>\n

“UNICUM!” cried the Hungarian Emperor Joseph II in 1790, when his physician Dr. Zwack gave him a taste of his bitter herbal liqueur as a remedy for imperial intestinal cramps. The album’s title track was composed in 2019 at the Budapest Music Center during a tour with the Jazzlab Orchestra. F\u00e9lix St\u00fcssi was surprised to discover a grand piano in his bedroom. The piece is also a tribute to the late Hungarian-born Montreal musician, composer and big band leader Vic Vogel.<\/p>\n

F\u00e9lix St\u00fcssi dedicates Blues turquoises to the memory of his friend and radio host Colette Coco Schryburt, who passed away in June 2023.<\/p>\n
