Curious and bursting with creativity, multi-instrumentalist Dominique Poirier grew up in Oka and began playing piano at around the age of six before turning to guitar lessons. As a teenager, he developed a passion for blues and jazz, which led him to pursue college studies in guitar at C\u00e9gep de Saint-Laurent. He deepened his mastery of his instrument and developed a love for composition.<\/p>\n

His musical explorations allowed him to strengthen his penchant for performing on stage. As a composer and performer, he toured extensively with various jazz and popular music projects.<\/p>\n

Having always had an affinity for the accordion, it was in 2018 that he embraced the instrument more seriously. It was love at first sight. The accordion allowed him to combine melody, improvisation, and accompaniment simultaneously. He was fascinated by the instrument’s versatility and its presence in several styles of music, including jazz, classical, and folk. He is currently pursuing studies in jazz accordion at Concordia University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
