Marcia was formed in the winter of 2023 when Julie Morisod (vocals), Mikhael Daoudi (guitar), and Adèle Levayer (flute and alto flute) came together. Initially brought together by their shared passion for the Brazilian repertoire (Northeastern rhythms, Brazilian jazz, MPB) and modern jazz, they quickly felt the need to create their own music. A strong chemistry developed between them, allowing them to develop a unique sound where the voices intertwine in an intuitive, precise, sensitive, and virtuosic manner.

As part of the Montreal jazz scene, Marcia makes a unique contribution while expanding her audience. The trio plays with traditional jazz conventions, questioning and reinventing them. Their instrumentation—vocals, guitar, flute, and alto flute—is unconventional and innovative.

Their debut album, released on September 24, 2026, was presented in Quebec as well as on a European tour in France, Switzerland, and Germany. Warmly received by audiences and critics alike, it will soon be performed in Montreal as part of the CAM on Tour for the 2026–2027 season.
