Lorraine Desmarais

What a privilege to welcome this grande dame of jazz piano to Glen Sutton! Pianist and composer, she will be playing on the recently restored Bösendorfer piano in Glen Sutton’s historic church.
Lorraine Desmarais is renowned in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe, China, Indonesia and Africa for her solo, trio, big band and symphony orchestra performances. She has twelve albums of original compositions to her credit. Three of these albums (Trio Lorraine Desmarais, Jazz pour Noël and Big Band ) won FÉLIX awards at the ADISQ Gala. In 2011, the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) awarded her an Honorary Doctorate. In 2013, she was made a Member of the Order of Canada. Lorraine Desmarais has performed with internationally renowned jazz artists including Chick Corea, Oliver Jones, Jacky Terrasson, Joe Lovano, New York’s Big Band Diva, the Brubeck Brothers and Paquito D’Rivera.

Otherwise, the ticket price is 40.00 and 10.00 for children aged 12 and under.
