Hailing from Montreal, 3Bucks is an up-and-coming guitar trio featuring guitarist Mathieu Lampron, bassist Emil Woest and drummer Benny Winkelman-Batchelor. Founded by three friends who met in CEGEP, the trio seeks to push the boundaries of the classical format by integrating jazz, folk and world music influences.

Drawing inspiration from the singer-songwriter tradition and contemporary improvised music, they juxtapose simple yet striking harmonies with lyrical guitar melodies, all tinged with an unpredictable, modern approach. Sometimes intimate, sometimes explosive, the ensemble takes its audience through impressionistic landscapes and vibrant urban scenes.

Exploring a wide range of sonic textures, the trio experiments with varied percussion, guitar effects and extended bass techniques, seeking to offer a rich, nuanced repertoire.
